The final Mass of the Eucharistic Congress takes place this Sunday afternoon in Croke Park. The event will be broadcast live on RTE

Corpus Christi Procession
The annual Corpus Christi Procession takes palce next Sunday June 24th from Syt Johns Church to St Mary's Cathedral beginning at 2.30 pm. All are encouraged to attend

Knock Youth Festival

The Knock Summer Festival is a one day event taking place on the 28th-July-2012.

It is for all young people between the ages of 17-30.On this day young people will come together in a faith setting and to deepen their relationship with Christ, explore, ignite and celebrate their faith. The event will have interactive talks, prayer, testimonies from young people, drama and music. We will finish the day with the celebration of the Eucharist, with a step by step guide to the new translation. There will also be a lot of time for young people to engage in conversation, reflect on what they have heard, chill out and have fun!

The Theme: “ONE”. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘ONE’. We will be concentrating on three themes of ONE in relation to the Church. One Love, One Community, One Body

Groups & Cost The festival is free of charge, we are also offering free accommodation for groups over 10, we are also encouraging groups to stay and climb Croagh Patrick on the 29th Reek Sunday. Join us for a pilgrimage to the West!

  Certificate in Theological Studies

With the involvement of lay people in the life of the diocese, St Kieran’s College Kilkenny, as part of its mission of education and formation, wishes to offer, on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Ossory, a programme of education for those involved in parish life.



The programme will be offered on the Kilkenny Campus of  NUI Maynooth, based at  St Kieran’s College. It will continue a tradition of education based on the values of the gospel, of both lay and clerical students, which began in 1782. The Programme will be accredited by St Patrick’s College Maynooth as a Level 7 Certificate in Theological Studies (20 credit ECTS).

 This course will be of interest to people who are involved in parish life. It may also be of interest to those who wish to deepen and enrich their own understanding of their faith and who are prepared to become involved in parish life. To provide general theological education and formation in the main aspects of faith, and a background needed for lay involvement and leadership roles at parish and diocesan level. Congratulations to Fr Dick on his Golden Jubilee

Our Parish Priest Fr Dick celebrates his Golden Jubilee of Ordination to Priesthood this month. On 3rd June 1962 he was ordained a Priest after completing his formation at St Kieran’s College. Since that time he has ministered in many parishes in our Diocese including Ferrybank, Castletown, Rathdowney, Gowran, and of course the Parish of Ballycallan. We thank him for his commitment and dedication among God’s people and extend hearty congratulations to him on reaching this milestone. We also pray that he enjoys many more years of health and ministry!

Eucharistic Congress – Celebrations in our Parish

·         This Sunday our Eucharistic Procession takes place after 11 am Mass in Kilmanagh

·         On Monday evening in Killaloe there will be a special time of adoration, prayer and Mass for pilgrims travelling to the Eucharistic Congress from our parish. Adoration will begin at 7pm followed by Mass and blessing of pilgrims.

·         On Wednesday evening with the assistance of the Parish Active Retirement Group Mass will be celebrated at 3pm at Dowrath Mass Rock commemorating the faith of people of past generations in the Eucharist often at great cost.

·         This weekend and next weekend a number of items from the 1932 Eucharistic Congress will be on display in our parish Churches. If anyone has anything to add please bring them along.

All those who have booked for Tuesday and Sunday 17th in Croke Park will have received their tickets / information by now. We have been informed that if anyone wants to go to the RDS any day you can now but a ticket at the door! Fr Martin Tobin the Ossory organiser emailed on Friday informing us he had twenty tickets left for Croke Park. so if you still want ot go he might be still worth a try. Fr Martin will be at the Congress for the week, if he can help you in any way call him on 086 2401278. We wish all those travelling a very enjoyable congress!

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Next Friday is the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our Masses are in Kilmanagh at 9 am, Ballycallan 8pm. On Friday evening there will be an hour of adoration from 7pm in Ballycallan with Benediction and Cconsecration to the sacred Heart
